In northwest Colorado, spring often delivers the characteristics of cold, blustery winter weather.  This year I enjoyed a warmer spring, for the most part.  On March 14, I joined ten adventure seekers on an incredible 21-day journey, running 280 miles of the Colorado River through 100 named rapids in rafts through the Grand Canyon.  Notification of my successful draws for a June 7-11 Yampa River permit AND a July 3-9 Main Salmon River permit make this a banner year for time on the river for this outdoor photographer!  Watch for a new "Gallery" with some of my favorite 2018 Views from the River in August.

I am excited about an upcoming workshop, "Marketing your Photographs" with Mary Virginia Swanson, in beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico!  Meeting new friends and networking with photographers are essential to my growth, both personally and professionally.  The sessions will provide a variety of experiences pertaining to marketing, including portfolio review events.  A few of my goals are to explore avenues to share my work with a wider audience, and create an online sales component for this website.  A bonus part of this week-long workshop will be spending time with Kim, a lifelong friend and supporter of my photography for over four decades, who lives in Santa Fe!

In addition to my website and facebook page, my work is available in Craig, CO, at:                                                Downtown Books - journals                                                                                                                                                 Museum of Northwest Colorado - note cards                                                                                                                       Yampa Valley Fiberworks - note cards, journals, prints

Stay cool, enjoy the long daylight hours of summer, count your blessings every day, and live like there's no tomorrow.

Ready for Summer

After a long, cold winter, northwest Colorado is bursting with the blessings of spring!  The wild flowers are plentiful in variety and colors, song-birds have returned and start my days with their cheerful calls, frequent rains keep the hillside lush and green, storm clouds paint an ever changing, emotional sky and add richness to the day’s last curtain call.

I appreciate the positive comments I have received since launching my website.  A new feature that will be available on the website soon is a shopping cart / store for online ordering.  Feel free to contact me directly at any time if you have questions or would like more information about my photography.

In my “New Work” Gallery, you will find tropical scenes captured during our travels to Cozumel and Cancun in the winter months, beautiful vistas in Arizona, cityscape images of Midtown Atlanta, spring plant and animal life in my yard, and even views from the friendly skies.

I am excited to be a member of the Smoking River Studio Arts,a new art and fine craft co-operative in Meeker, Colorado. Welcome to my new site!

I am so excited to see this website go live!  Through this venue I look forward to sharing the amazing life scenes I capture in my daily adventures.  Living in northwest Colorado, I spend as much time as possible outdoors….bicycling, cross country skiing, hiking, rafting, walking, water skiing….which is reflected in the nature and wildlife photographs in my collections.  You will also find images from my travels, stretching from Colorado to scattered states, and south to balmy tropical beaches.  My years of snapping candids of family and friends, and shooting breathtaking sunrises, rainbows filled with a refreshing aura, and the endless wonder of nature have deepened my passion as a photographer.  Nature has been my inspiration, and people in my life have invited and encouraged me to grow, whether it be submitting my work for consideration in a juried exhibit, or asking me to add a new genre to my repertoire (portrait, commercial/business, wedding, documenting local events), or purchasing my images and moving me to explore new photography printing processes (canvas, metallic, glass).  Entering the “Abstract” category in the county fair a few years ago, a personal challenge to explore a new genre, stimulated my awareness in abstract formations in nature.  I am grateful for the Craig Photography Club monthly opportunity to meet and learn with visual artist friends who share the same passion.

As the snow is gently falling outside, I am eager for this new season...time to grow and dig into the nuts and bolts of having an online business presence.  I welcome you to join me in this new adventure.  If one of my images speaks to you, please share it with others.  Photographs featured on this website are available for licensing, prints, and as blank note cards.  Please contact me for more information at  I will respond as soon as possible, however, understand I may be traveling, on an adventure in an area with no cell or internet reception, or spending time making memories with people near and dear to me.

I am grateful for being awarded a matching funds Career Advancement grant on behalf of the Colorado Creative Industries (CCI) and National Endowment for the Arts.

Webmaster Jeremy Browning, owner of Chaos Ink, is the graphic artist/consultant responsible for designing this professional website to showcase my photography business. Thanks for your work to make this dream become a reality, Jeremy!
